I’m Kevin Behringer – a marketer, communicator and social media nut living in Southeastern Wisconsin.

For more than 10 years, I’ve helped companies (large and small) improve their marketing by integrating their past efforts with new tools while directing their attention to stay focused on the customer. Be it strategic planning or execution of branding efforts, digital marketing campaigns, social media or PR, I have helped companies of 10 to 1000 people with their communication efforts.

In my current role, I am responsible for digital marketing at a niche insurance company. While in my current job and elsewhere, I’ve spent time in many different marketing disciplines. From strategy to execution, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects – both digital and traditional – to help companies build their brand and while being an advocate for the customer within the organization.

This I Believe

I have some basic views of business and marketing and what they are becoming.

• I believe that marketing has become a critical part of every part of business. The ability for people to easily and widely share their opinion of a company, based on any interaction with said company, means that everything your company does contributes to the market’s opinion of your company. Therefore, marketing = business.
• I believe that business is personal and, therefore, needs to have a personality.
• I believe that since marketing = business and business = personal, therefore marketing = personal.  That means, make your marketing personal. Don’t act like my favorite Hugh MacLeod cartoon.
• I believe that, “We need a Facebook page,” or “Let’s get on Twitter,” are not marketing strategies but reactions to fear.
• I believe that anyone who says, “Put some marketing spin on it,” doesn’t understand marketing.
• I believe that without a compelling story to tell, marketing and advertising are just noise.
• I believe that these beliefs apply today….tomorrow, who knows?

So, a little personality

To “walk my own talk” of being personal, a bit about me outside of business. I’m a Christian, husband to Lacy, father to Noah living in Whitewater, WI. I am an amateur photographer, coffee fiend and voracious reader.
